Firecrest doubles senior team

Firecrest has announced a significant expansion to its senior creative team.

Mark Harrison and Andrew Abbott have been appointed as Executive Producers, in addition to the hiring last month of Lorraine McKechnie, also as Executive Producer.  This now doubles the senior creative team to six, reflecting the substantial growth in business.

Mark Harrison is a freelance producer whose credits include the relaunch of BBC1’s Watchdog with the highest ratings in five years. He joined Firecrest in earlier this year as series producer for Supershoppers. As Executive Producer at Firecrest his responsibilities will include the company’s current affairs slate, looking after forthcoming commissions for BBC1 Panorama and C4 Dispatches, as well as Supershoppers.

Andrew Abbott’s Executive Producer credits include The Scottish Bounty Hunter (Mentorn for BBC1), Boy Soldiers of World War 2 (Peachtree Films for Channel 5) and Transsexual Stories (Peachtree Films for BBC Scotland). He was Series Producer on The Cancer Hospital for Firecrest (BBC Scotland) and most recently produced and directed Faith Behind Bars for Firecrest for BBC1for Abi Priddle.

Last month Lorraine McKechnie joined the company as Executive Producer from Channel 4 where she was the Nations and Regions executive.
