Firecrest Films is an independent television producer with an outstanding reputation for award-winning factual programmes. We have an open and positive company culture which has been consistently recognised as one of the best in the TV industry.

Firecrest was named the best small independent production company in the UK at the 2022 Edinburgh TV Festival.

We specialise in ambitious premium documentaries, making films and series for major UK broadcasters and streamers. Our programmes have achieved record ratings, received the highest acclaim, and made front page news. In the last two years we've won 12 awards, most recently Amazon's first ever BAFTA.

We are based in the stunning Fairfield building in Govan, Glasgow, once the greatest and most successful shipyard in the world. You can read more about this incredible space here. In January 2024 Firecrest was named one of the Best Places to Work in TV - the fifth consecutive year we've won this accolade. We've also been cited by Broadcast magazine as the fastest growing independent TV company outside London. Last year we were named one of the best companies in TV for new talent at the New Voice Awards.

We're committed to growing the next generation of top television talent, both on screen and off. We invest heavily to develop and train tomorrow's top documentary directors, producers, execs, editors and production managers. Many of our staff have been with us for a long time, and helped us grow.

Firecrest Films is supported with funds awarded by the UK Global Screen Fund - financed by the UK Government's Department for Culture, Media and Sport and administered by the BFI.

In January 2017 the Channel 4 Growth Fund took an investment stake in the company, which has fuelled our expansion and growth.
