New BBC history series announced

The BBC has commissioned new two-part documentary, Terror at the Terminal from Firecrest Films.

Directed by Matt Pinder, the series tells the story of the failed attacks that targeted London's West End and Glasgow Airport in June 2007.

Combining remarkable first-hand testimony, rarely heard perspectives and archive, Terror at the Terminal is the definitive inside account of the most significant counter-terrorism investigations in modern British history.

Through interviews with members of the security services, counter-terrorism detectives and others, the documentary reveals how Bilal Abdulla and Kafeel Ahmed met, became radicalised and quietly assembled their plans. The narrative examines the nightclub bomb plot in London, before the duo moved on to Glasgow, hearing from those whose lives were changed forever by it. And the series follows the national response as Jacqui Smith, facing her first weekend as the newly appointed Home Secretary, dealt with her first major terrorist incident in office.
