The cost of living is becoming increasingly unaffordable, and many of us are struggling to stay afloat. Channel 4 Dispatches meets the everyday people pushed into exploitative and dangerous situations - from a nurse who has become a ‘full service escort’ to the police officer who is postponing thoughts of retirement to work two jobs. Almost two million people in Britain have now turned to illegal lenders for help, and increasingly loans are now being offered on social media. Reporter Ellie Flynn goes undercover to meet the men exploiting the cash-strapped and vulnerable, meeting sexual predators who prey on women struggling to make ends meet, and organised criminals recruiting unknowing victims.
